MIY06 – Courage
Did you know that there are two kinds of courage? CS Lewis writes about both of these types of courage in his book Mere Christianity.
One kind of courage is the kind that acts in the face of danger.
The other kind of courage is the courage that continues on in the face of pain and difficulty. He calls this fortitude, and says, “You will notice that you cannot practice any of the other virtues very long without bringing this one into play.”
This is true in life and business as well. You cannot be successful without having both the courage that faces danger and the courage that continues on in the face of pain and difficulty. We have already talked a bit about the second type of courage under the heading Persistence. In this module we will discuss the courage that faces danger, and why you’ll need to practice that type of courage in your life and business.
